FAQ

  • What types of dogs can participate?
Dogs of all breeds, sizes, and ages can benefit from our mobile dog gym. Your dog must be at least 12 weeks old to participate.
  • What are the benefits of exercising my dog with B.A.R.M?
Regular exercise is essential for a dog's overall well-being. Our workouts promote cardiovascular health, weight management, confidence boosting, muscle strength, flexibility, and mental engagement. It's not just about physical fitness - it's about enhancing your dog's quality of life.
  • Is my dog safe during the sessions?
Safety is our top priority. Our equipment consists of NON-MOTORIZED slatmills meaning that your pup runs at its own pace and can slow down or stop any time they want to. Our climate-controlled environment also provides a comfortable and secure space for workouts.
  • Do I need to be present during the session?
While it's not mandatory, we encourage pet owners to be present during the first session to share the experience with their dogs. It can also strengthen the bond between you and your furry friend.
  • How is this different from walking my dog?
Slatmill dog training and normal walks differ significantly. In contrast, normal walks use a leash and collar or harness, offering moderate exercise, socialization, and bathroom breaks in an outdoor setting, with longer and less intense sessions. Meanwhile, slatmill training offers a controlled environment, high-intensity exercise, and mental stimulation focused on fitness. Combining both methods can create a well-rounded exercise routine for dogs.
  • How long does it take them to feel comfortable?
All dogs learn at a different pace. Most dogs will usually take between 5-10 minutes for them to get completely used to our machines. Some may take even longer but we will try our very best to make them feel as comfortable as possible!
  • How often should my dog participate in sessions?
The frequency of sessions depends on your dog's age, fitness level, and goals. We can recommend an appropriate schedule based on your dog's individual needs.
  • How can I prepare for an appointment?
Bring a leash , a fitted harness (one will be appointed to you if your dog does not have one free of charge), and motivation. Prior to your appointment, let your dog use the bathroom to avoid any accidents in our van. No food or excessive water 90 minutes before their appointment.
  • What should I expect after my B.A.R.M. session?
While your dog's endorphins are high, expect them to have some last-minute zoomies before they are fully tapped out. That is entirely normal! Your dog should then cool down naturally before being given water access. Consult with your vet if needed to see an appropriate time frame before allowing access to large amounts of water if your dog has experienced bloat before. If your dog is older, a nice massage would help by lightly squeezing your dog's legs.
